Warriors Book: "Power of Three: Outcast"

Outcast is the third book in Erin Hunter's Warriors: Power of Three fantasy novel series. HarperCollins published it on April 22, 2008. The plot follows Jaypaw, Hollypaw, and Lionpaw on their quest to the mountains and the Tribe.

Plot summary

In Outcast, Hollypaw, Lionpaw, and Jaypaw resume their daily lives after the events of Dark River. Jaypaw becomes obsessed with learning about the cats who had lived by the lake before the Clans while Lionpaw continues training with Tigerstar. Hollypaw realizes she wants to become leader of her Clan one day. Each finds the aspect of traveling to the mountains intriguing, and when Talon of Swooping Eagle (Talon) and Night of No Stars (Night) from the Tribe of Rushing Water come to ThunderClan to ask Stormfur and Brook to come back, they get their chance.

Extras!
Brambleclaw, Squirrelflight, Tawnypelt, Crowfeather, Stormfur, Brook, Breezepaw, Jaypaw, Hollypaw, and Lionpaw all journey to the mountains where the Tribe was being terrorized by intruders. Stormfur was from RiverClan before the Great Journey, but then joined the Tribe of Rushing Water. Brook originally came from the mountains as well, but her and Stormfur were banished when too many cats were injured or died because of Stormfur's idea to fight the intruders. The Tribe cats were not well-versed in fighting, only attacking hawks. Once there, the mixed-Clan group start teaching every Tribe cat how to fight like the Clan cats. The Tribe is reluctant to give up their traditions, but they manage to drive out the invaders, mostly thanks to Lionpaw. Meanwhile, Jaypaw continues to try to find out about the mysterious prophecy that has haunted him to no end: "There will be three, kin of your kin, who hold the powers of the stars in their paws" from the ancient cats that refers to himself and his littermates. He learns that the Tribe originated from the lake and decides to tell his brother and sister about the prophecy at the end of Outcast.
